WHEN FASHION BECOMES MEMORY: DENIM TEARS × ANDRÉ LEON TALLEY

Denim Tears fall/winter 2026 collection, created with the @andreltalley estate, looks back at the world of a man who understood fashion as more than clothes.

This collection pays tribute to the late fashion icon André Leon Talley through a 153-piece collection created in partnership with the André Leon Talley Estate. Inspired by Talley’s distinctive style throughout the ’90s and early 2000s, the collection brings together luxury, sportswear, Black designers, and African diaspora culture—the worlds Talley championed throughout his career.

The collection features metallic denim, statement outerwear, varsity jackets, leather pieces, and reworked versions of Denim Tears’ signature Cotton Wreath. Standout details include licensed NAACP graphics, Talley-inspired pieces, and collaborations with Stüssy Tears, Billionaire Boys Club, and artist Spacebrat.

More than a tribute to Talley’s wardrobe, the collection reflects his lasting influence: using fashion as a platform to celebrate Black creativity, culture, and visibility.

André Leon Talley was a writer, editor, stylist, creative director, and one of the most influential black voices ever to move through fashion. he became vogue’s first black male creative director and used his position to champion black models, designers, and creatives, making space for people who had too often been left outside the room.

His influence wasn’t only in what he wore or who he knew. it was in the doors he pushed open.
This collection revisits his personal style, his love of couture, and the cultural references that shaped him.
But more than anything, it’s a reminder that the things we inherit don’t have to stay in the past.
The next generation gets to take them, question them, remix them, and keep them moving.
